Few months ago, a friend asked me if I’m on facebook. I had no clue what she was talking about. She sent me an invite and harassed me on a daily basis to join. I finally succumbed (when I finally got the time) and joined last month. And I’m hooked!
Most of my friends are on it and we communicate and stay in touch on a daily basis now. I even found an old high school mate from the London years that I have not heard of/from since I left there.
I’m so addicted to facebook that I check it before my personal email every morning these days.
Additionally, you can find new friends (but are you that desperate?!). My favourite friend requests are those that tell me how beautiful I look in Hijab and they want to be friends (are you for real?). They are so much funnier than “you are beautiful” or “have a lovely smile”.
Penultimately (I work in a place where people use this words in emails!!), online weirdoes will annoy you now and then, but you have the option to ignore them and also limit the people who can view your profile. The benefits of facebook still exceed the drawbacks.
So, go ahead and poke me there!

Hi Jeehan.
I heard alot about you from my friend Alya. I hope it's ok with you that I read your blogs and comment on what you write. I have a blog of my own and I would love it if you would check it out yourself. It's on www.farawlat.blogspot.com
And by the way I have been getting billions of invitations about facebook and I have no idea what it was. Thanx to you I'm going to check it out. You got me interested :)
