Hello Again!

1426

Today is the last day of the Islamic year 1426.
Happy, peaceful and prosperous year to all.

Labbayka Allahom Labbayk

1426 is special because it is the year I fulfilled the fifth pillar of Islam: Hajj.

Going to pilgrimage was a dream that came true. It was beyond beautiful.
I felt so close to Allah that although during the trip my patience and sanity were tested many times, I never lost my temper or my mind.
It was a great journey which soothed me spiritually even though I almost lost my brother and sister during the human stampede. But I blame the Saudi government, who now I hate and loathe! Ok, maybe the trip was not a complete success as I should have learnt how to be forgiving. To be honest, I’d forgive anyone.. just not the Saudis!!

The Danish Freedom of Speech

Well… The Danes are finally getting worried…
After four months of publishing insolent cartoons depicting the Prophet (peace be upon him), the Muslim world finally started acting against the Danes. The action was peaceful and simple. The Muslims will not insult the Danes or their belief of freedom of speech, but they will simply not buy any Danish products until we get an apology.

I wonder if the loss in income would change the current stand of the Government and the population!

They have the freedom of speech and we have the freedom of choice! And we choose non Danish products!

Good Bye Bachelorhood!

W (old friend of family and my loyal reader) aka Abu Shamas is getting married tomorrow!
Since I will not be attending the wedding (the effect of Hajj still on) I like to take this opportunity to congratulate him and wish him an ever lasting happiness. Inshallah el thania thabta ;))

ALF MABROOK YA W!

New Beginnings

A New Year

Saturday night, I looked at my watch, and saw that it was 12:20 am. I missed the countdown to the New Year. Oh well!! New years are over rated anyway! What's with the countdown? Why do we celebrate the beginning of January? We should celebrate the beginning of each month. January is not special. September is. I was born in it!

Of course I didn't make any new resolutions. I've grown off lying to myself. All resolutions I previously made, I broke the next day. I admit that breaking them was fun!

Any way, may 2006 be a peaceful (no chance with Israel and invading USA in the world), joyous (unlikely with Palestine and Iraq still occupied), and prosperous (maybe if you blind yourself to the famine and poverty of Africa) year!

A New Ruler

The Ruler of Dubai Died This Morning.
The prime minister and vice president of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, passed away this morning.
The least profiled Maktoum of the three brothers "ruling" Dubai, Sheikh Maktoum was known for his love for horse racing. He was around 65 years old and his death was sudden to the general population.

May Allah bless his soul, forgive his sins and make his last residence paradise.

Sheikh Mohamad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum would become the Ruler of Dubai. Sheikh Mohamad is known as the pioneer who lead Dubai to where it is now.

A New Me

You might have noticed how sweet I was above. Not the usual me!
Well that's because today I will embark a new journey.

I'M GOING TO HAJJ.

My plan is to come back from Mecca a more pleasant person (as if that is possible). Actually my aim is to return with strengthened faith, heightened spirituality and in general to be a better Muslim.

The result will show once I'm back on the 16th.

Till then…

Allah bless… and stay good!
